UPDATE: FEB 2004 | The Millikan Library paper has been published: http://resolver.caltech.edu/CaltechEERL:EERL-2004-03 |
The movie archive contains movies of the Millikan Library's behavior during a suite of forced vibration tests performed August 28, 2002 by John Clinton, Javier Favela, and myself. The file name conventions are as follows:
exp[number]-[exitation frequency].nne.gif, eg: exp3-1.67Hz.nne.gif = Experiment 3, Forced excitation of 1.67Hz
The movies are animated .gif images, which contain the acceleration records from each of the floors, there are two N-S arrays and one E-W array shown in each figure.
Experiment 1: E-W shaking with full weights
Experiment 2: N-S shaking with full weights
Experiment 3: N-S shaking with 2x2 weights
Experiment 4: E-W shaking with 2x2 weights
Experiment 5: E-W shaking with no weights
Experiment 6: N-S shaking with no weights
For more details regarding the experiment, and some summary plots of our results, please see the paper mentioned above.
